12-Step Meetings

Seastone Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center understands that attending 12-step meetings can help you with your recovery.

We encourage our clients to seek the support of 12-step fellowships and meetings during their treatment. We discuss the “disease concept of addiction” with our clients and and offer transportation to various local 12-step meetings.

In Delray Beach there are anywhere from 10-20 12-step meetings daily. They consist of a group of people who meet for support and in an attempt to solve problems. Our staff members are well versed in 12-step fellowships and are ready to assist you in any way possible if you are interested in attending.

It is important to keep an open mind about meeting attendance.  It can assist you with your recovery. There are many misconceptions about 12-step fellowships. One misconception is that you MUST speak at your first meeting. Speaking is encouraged (introducing yourself to other attendees), but it is NOT a requirement. 12-step meetings are there for support. People helping people who are otherwise unable to help themselves.

12-step meetings are optional at Seastone. Seastone will provide education and materials about 12-steps, but we encourage that you get a sponsor and work through the steps with your sponsor once you have completed treatment.

Seastone does not promote and is not affiliated with any 12-step fellowship.
