Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a key component in treatment at Seastone

Clients are assigned to a primary therapist for their stay at Seastone. Each primary therapist works with their assigned case load closely. Therapists meet with their clients for individual sessions 1-2 times weekly. Clients are given the opportunity to sit down for at least a one hour therapy session every week. Working closely with an individual therapist for therapy sessions is important for a person’s recovery so they can begin to work on some of the issues that have contributed to the person’s addiction.

At Seastone we believe in an “open door policy” and allow our clients to have access to their therapists. One difference that sets us apart from other treatment centers is the commitment our therapists have to helping our clients. Our therapists are trained in different styles and techniques of therapy that work well with various personalities of our clients. We believe that one size does not fit all. Some clients will respond well to one style of therapy while another may not. Our therapists are trained to recognize what style and approach works best with our clients and how to change styles when necessary. Our therapists believe in building positive therapeutic relationships that will assist our clients in being most successful at their recovery. Because our therapists who run our group sessions are also our individual therapists, they are able to recognize behaviors from our clients and are able to address them in individual sessions. Therapists work closely with our clients and encourage them to push themselves outside of their comfort zones and focus on what needs to be discussed with a therapist in order for them to begin to move forward with their lives and with their recovery.

The therapy provided at any treatment center is the most important part of someone’s stay in a drug and alcohol treatment center. At Seastone we pride ourselves on having excellent therapists and providing structured and effective therapy to our clients. Our therapists pride themselves on continuing to expand their education and their skill set so they can be the best therapists available for our clients. Having a passion for helping addicts and alcoholics is something that cannot be taught and a quality we know with certainty that our therapists possess.
